Case Study: Mr H
-
The problem:
Mr H was booked in for a health assessment but the HR team told us that he had called in sick, and for various reasons they were concerned about him.
-
What happened:
When our healthcare professional (HCP) finished his day he visited the employee at home and performed the health assessment there. He discovered that Mr H's blood pressure was dangerously high putting him at serious risk of a stroke. Being an HCP he was able to speak directly with Mr H's GP who immediately prescribed emergency blood pressure medication, thereby mitigating the risk of a stroke.
-
The effect on Mr H:
Mr H now has his blood pressure under control which has vastly improved his health outcome and reduced the likelihood of developing a life changing disability.
-
The effect on the employer:
Mr H was absent for a short while. However, had the worst happened they employer would very likely have paid many months of sick pay and ultimately could have been looking at ill-health retirement, losing talent and tens of thousends of pounds.
