Case Study: Mr L
-
The problem:
Mr L is a very senior employee who, through time constraints and stress had not been proactive with his health. However, he was able to come for an on-site health assessment where it was found that his blood pressure was high.
-
What happened:
Our HCP advised Mr L to complete a blood pressure diary and reviewed it after a week. The diary showed a significant elevation over that time so our HCP wrote to Mr Ls GP. The GP contacted Mr L directly and prescribed medication to normalise his blood pressure.
-
The effect on Mr L:
Mr L now has a stabilised blood pressure. He reviews it regularly and has now taken an interest in his health.
-
The effect on the employer:
Given that Mr L no longer has high blood pressure the poor health outcomes associated with the condition are reduced. This has reduced the likelihood of significant sick leave, adjustments, or reduced hours, while increasing morale and positive thoughts towards the employer.
