Case Study: Mr R

The problem:
Mr R had phoned in sick, and for various reasons the employer was very concerned about his health, and that he was unable to see a GP.

What happened:
The employer, an existing client contacted SPA Medical where an offer to immediately visit Mr R at home was made despite him living in excess of 100 miles away from the nearest HCP. The situation concluded with our HCP speaking to Mr R's GP and, having explained the situation to the GP an immediate prescription was given. Our HCP phoned Mr R each day to monitor his progress. When it became apparent the medication hadn't completely worked our HCP contacted the GP again who prescribed a second course.

The effect on Mr R:
Mr R returned to work after around ten days having likely avoided pneumonia and a consequential hospital admission.

The effect on the employer:
Had Mr R been admitted to hospital the employer would have lost his talent for an indefinite amount of time, as well as having to pay him while he was absent. Mr R is hugely grateful to his employer and SPA Medical for their intervention.
